How to Remove an Auto Emblem
- 1). Turn the heat gun to its lowest setting and hold it several inches away from the emblem. Heat the emblem until the glue adhesive that is holding it onto the car begins to loosen and melt. Check this by gently prying on the corner of the emblem with the putty knife from time to time. When the emblem moves easily, the adhesive is hot enough to enable you to remove the emblem.
- 2). Use the putty knife to pry the emblem away from the vehicle. Be careful and gentle so that you do not damage the paint. You may need to continue heating the adhesive from time to time during if the emblem does not release easily.
- 3). Scrub the area of the car where the emblem was located with a specially designed cleaning product intended for adhesives. Rinse the area thoroughly with water.
