- 1). Locate an area where the animal has been before. If you have not seen the animal in a particular place look for tracks in the snow, sand or mud. Place the board in this area and flip the crate upside down on top of it.
- 2). Find a stick that will hold up the crate by staying wedged between one edge of the crate and the ground and still leave enough room for the animal to enter the crate.
- 3). Tie a long string to the bottom of the stick and prop one edge of the crate up with it. Carefully feed the other end of the string behind a building, tree or large rock where you will be hiding.
- 4). Place bait in the back corner under the crate to lure the animal and hide with the end of the rope behind the large object. Good bait is meat,, vegetables or fruit depending on the animal you are trying to catch.
- 5). Tug on the rope tightly when the animal is completely under the crate and put a heavy object on top of the crate. Pick up the board and crate together and load it in a truck to take it away and release the animal, or call a local professional to take the animal.
