When deciding on how long your article should be, please keep the reader in mind.
You want to engage the reader but not bore the reader with excessive words in the article.
The search engines like to see a specific article length for a web page but their reader's attention span is far more important to the success for the article's objective.
Anywhere from 200 to 500 words will do just fine.
Anything over that and you risk the possibility of the reader thinking you are too wordy and moving on to another page.
Than other page may not be yours! If they do not finish your page they may leave only knowing half of the information you intended them to have.
Since action is usually based on the end of the message and not the beginning of the message then this could be detrimental to your objective (such as a sale).
Keep in mind the style of the internet reader is different than the style of someone reading a book.
The internet reader tends to glance and look for key words rather than slowly reading word for word.
That is why content is king on the internet.
One method to use to avoid being too wordy is to divide your thoughts into several different articles or web pages.
You could even use the same title of the article but add part 1, part 2, etc.
You could also change the title as well.
The point is to divide the article to keep the reader engaged.
