How Do I Install an EGR Valve & Vacuum Lines in a Ford Expedition?
- 1). Raise the hood and remove the intake tubing from the throttle body using the 3/8-inch ratchet and socket and set it aside. Locate the EGR valve, which is on the top of the engine near the throttle body.
- 2). Label the vacuum lines attached to the EGR valve using the masking tape and a permanent marker, so that you can reconnect the vacuum lines correctly. Pull off the vacuum lines connecting the EGR valve to the manifolds with your fingers.
- 3). Unbolt the EGR valve from the intake manifold using the 3/8-inch ratchet and socket. Remove the valve and clean the mounting surface on the intake manifold with a wire brush.
- 4). Install the replacement EGR valve on the intake manifold using the 3/8-inch ratchet and socket. Connect the replacement vacuum lines to the EGR valve and the manifolds with your fingers. Reinstall the air intake tubing to the throttle body using the 3/8-inch ratchet and socket.
