Panic and Anxiety Attacks - How to Cure Yourself
A cure for panic and anxiety attacks is the number one thing people suffering from this disorder want and they'll try almost anything to get over it.
Some of the ideas for curing panic attacks and anxiety are just plain bad for you, some are less so, and, as far as I know only one cure works, works fast, and is actually good for you! We'll get to that soon.
What is a panic attack? It's your overall, general anxiety suddenly spiking into physical symptoms like heart racing, red face, sweating, feelings of weakness, etc.
Then there are the mental processes that go on during this insane rush of physical symptoms.
The most important one of these is fear.
Biologically, we inherited the "fight or flight" instinct.
This set of behavioral traits will, on the onset of something truly fearful, like a lion or a bear near you in the woods, jump your heart rate and flood your body with adrenaline! This was inherited by us because, in the past, this reaction allowed ancestors of ours to survive, allowing them the time to breed and pass down the survival enhancing instinct, and insuring the survival of our species.
It's built in.
It's normal.
What isn't normal is a panic attack triggered by the thought of a business meeting.
Also not normal is the fear of that panic attack becoming the driver of a severe anxiety spike that can last for hours and make the victim think they are going crazy or dying of a heart attack.
That's NOT normal.
This scenario or something like it is played out daily by tens of thousand of people who are stuck in this sort of a self fulfilling premonition.
You see, people who don't have the panic attack syndrome running amok in their lives, will encounter something dangerous, jump into the "solution mode" (fight or flight) and deal with it.
They'll run away or, in some manner, be stronger than the fear.
But a person who is stuck, temporarily, with the panic attack, super anxiety disorder will encounter their little fear trigger, which is commonly their fear of a panic attack, and rapidly escalate into a full blown fear and panic episode.
When I was struggling with panic attacks (for six years!) my fear trigger was the thought of a meeting, business or personal.
I was afraid that I would have a panic attack that caused me to behave like a crazy man, AND that I wouldn't be able to explain it to my friends and associates! So, even though my main fear was that of a panic attack, it was also all tied up with embarrassment, ego and the feeling that maybe I really was crazy and losing it fast.
To get rid of your panic attacks you have to get rid of your fear of them, and that can be done fairly easily.
I wish I'd have known that when I was having my life wrecked by these horrible periods that just seemed to keep coming.
But I didn't.
Still I remained determined to get rid of these frightful scenes.
Finally, and quite randomly, I came to the mental positioning it took for me to discard my fear of panic attacks.
I did it in about two minutes on one afternoon while stopped at a traffic light.
It was as easy as making a simple decision.
But it took me six years to get there! What a waste! Still, I did it! And you can do it, too.
It just takes a little change in your thought processes at the onset of a panic attack that allows you to stop being afraid of the attacks.
That breaks the "spell".
Only you don't have to wait six years! You can do it now.
