Do you believe there are actually thoughts that can make you thin? You better believe it.
It is true.
Have you ever had those annoying suggestive little voices that whisper in your ear? Next thing you know you have eaten the whole chocolate.
How will you ever lose weight at this rate? Those voices are always at it whenever you are confronted with food.
Your thoughts are filled with maybe I will just eat one biscuit? My parents are both heavy so what chance do I have of slimming down? What makes us fat is not just the snacks we eat but the food related thoughts that go through our heads.
How do we transform these negative thoughts into positive ones? Negative thought I ordered the grilled cheese so why not add fries with it? Positive thought One treat at a time.
I am having grilled cheese so why not trade the fries for a salad? The thought pattern is that you have blown it for today, so what is the difference? Allow yourself an occasional treat, just not every day.
Negative thought Just one biscuit.
Positive thought If I cannot control myself and eat just one or two biscuits, I should not have any at all.
It is okay to eat your favourite foods, provided you are the type that can stop after a small amount.
Negative thought Fat runs in the family so why should I bother exercising? Positive thought I cannot change my DNA but I can change my fate.
If being over weight runs in the family, so does obesity related diseases.
Over weight and physically fit people can live longer than people who are ideal weight and not physically fit.
Negative thought It would be rude to turn down another helping of my mother in law's lasagna.
Positive thought I am being disrespectful to my body by forcing down more than my full.
If she is the type who pushes food on you tell her at the beginning of the meal that you are not a big eater.
There are many ways of showing your appreciation, pile on the praise and ask for the recipe.
Negative thought How can I weigh so much if all I eat is salad? Positive thought A salad heaped with dressing can have as many calories as a hamburger.
You have to be realistic and admit that whatever you add contains calories.
If you ladel croutons over your salad you might as well eat a sandwich.
Negative thought Let us get together for drinks or lunch Positive thought Let us meet for a walk.
Invite your friends to do things like visit an art gallery, take a walk in the park or along the beach.
These changed thoughts can help you to think yourself thin.
Trying to change your behaviour without the way you view food is like building a castle in the sand.
Change the discipline destroying thoughts and you can change your life or at least your weight.
