Disable Microsoft Update

• 1). Visit the Microsoft Update website.
  
  
• 2). Find and click the “Change Settings” button located on the Microsoft Update website.
  
  
• 3). Click the check box next to “Disable Microsoft Update Software and Let Me Use Windows Update Only.”
  
  
• 4). Click “Yes” when prompted to indicate you wish to continue. The Microsoft Update service is now disabled.
  
  

Disable Windows Updates

• 1). Click the “Start” menu and choose “Control Panel.”
  
  
• 2). Select “Performance and Maintenance,” and then “System.”
  
  
• 3). Choose the “Automatic Updates” tab and click the radial button next to “Turn Off Automatic Updating. I Want to Update My Computer Manually.”
  
  
• 4). Select “OK."
