How to Hook Up a Power Cord From a Subwoofer to a Battery
- 1). Run the power cord from the subwoofer to your vehicle's battery along the driver's side. Depending on where you have placed the sub, you can pull up the carpet and hide the power cord under the carpet. If you don't have access through the firewall, you will need to drill a hole large enough to fit the end of the power cord through.
- 2). Loosen the terminal on the positive side of the battery by unscrewing the mounting screw on the terminal. Pull the terminal off the positive post.
- 3). Place the ring on the end of the power cord over the positive post on the vehicle's battery.
- 4). Insert the end of the ground wire into the connection marked "Ground" or "GRD" on the subwoofer. Tighten the screw on the connection to hold the wire in place.
- 5). Attach the other end of the ground wire to the metal on the vehicle's chassis. You can do this by finding a nearby bolt on the chassis and loosening it enough to wrap the ground wire around the bottom of the bolt using a wrench. Twist the bolt back against the chassis to hold the ground wire in place.
