Home Remedy to Kill Ants Outside
- White vinegar is regarded as a way of ridding one's home--both inside and outside--of ants. Pour white vinegar on the areas affected by ants, including mounds. Attempt to cover as much as possible, if not the entire area, to ensure complete removal. This treatment should work within an hour.
- Pipe tobacco, soaked in water overnight, forms a sort of "tobacco tea," which can be used to treat and remove ants outside. After soaking the tobacco overnight, remove the tobacco with a pair of gloves, leaving only the liquid "tea" remaining. Pour the mixture on ant hills and mounds, making sure to soak them heavily. This should kill the ants within the hour.
- Dried mint leaves are another way to remove ants. Crush the mint leaves, and spread the powder over areas in which ants reside or frequent. Mint tea bags will also suffice, though crushed leaves are a bit more effective.
- While it may not prevent ants from returning at a later date, pouring scalding water in large doses and at regular intervals on ant mounds and hills will kill the ants.
