Hanging Charlie

Kate and Jack come upon Charlie, hanging by his neck from a tree. Jack struggles to hold him up, while Kate climbs the tree and cuts the rope. Charlie drops to the ground, and Jack removes Charlie's blindfold and begins CPR.
Charlie doesn't respond and Kate begs Jack to stop. He stops and they both look at the dead Charlie. Then Jack begins punching Charlie in the chest and suddenly Charlie gasps for air.

Silent Charlie

Michael returns to the caves empty handed and Walt gives him a hug. He tells Michael that Charlie hasn't spoken since he and Kate and Jack got back.
Jack tries to get Charlie to tell him what happened, but Charlie stares off into space and won't answer, until finally he says in monotone, "I didn't see anything. Hear anything. I don't remember anything."

Charlie continues, "All they wanted was Claire."

Boone, Locke and ?

Shannon tells Kate that she's worried about Boone. Kate responds, "They probably made camp for the night. Don't worry. If there's anyone on the island your brother is safe with, it's Locke."
Boone decides that he does want to go back after all. "You need this more than I do," Locke says, tossing him the flashlight. Boone drops the flashlight and it clanks on something metal.

The two look at each other, then crouch to examine the ground. Locke taps something with his knife and tells Boone it's steel.
