Faceless Man of Shrewsbury
After reading "Faceless Man in Black" from April 2009, I would like to share a similar encounter I had of my own from this past October that has been giving my wife and I nightmares for months. Let me start by saying I live in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts. Nothing weird happens up here at all, nor has anything weird happened to me until I was coming home from a club with my wife after celebrating our two-year anniversary.
It just a nice night out, a little dancing, some dinner and a couple of drinks (I think I should add my wife and I were not intoxicated in any way, shape or form). As we went outside of the club to go to the car, I noticed what looked like someone standing near a fire escape across the street. I didn't pay much attention until my wife pointed out how "peculiar" the man looked. His face seemed somewhat obscured by shadows, but this guy was a tall (I mean about 7 feet, not hard to miss), slender man in a black suit. It felt like he was watching us. That was our cue to leave quickly. She was a little shaken up and, hey, I was a little creeped out.
Then, just as we were not even 10 minutes away from our house, guess who we see standing on the sidewalk? It was the same tall man in the black suit. Now here's the worst part that I will never forget for as long as I live: my headlights briefly shined across his face, but he had no features! I didn't look back, I just sped toward my house, hoping we would make it back safely.
My wife and I didn't discuss it for a week until she was woken up by a nightmare one night. In it, the skinny, faceless man hovers into our room, fiddles around with something on our nightstand, takes something and leaves. I get up to go investigate and -- this is the weird part -- my wallet has $20 missing from it. Everything else was there except for a $20 bill that I know for a fact I couldn't have lost or spent that day. Could I have misplaced it or was it the work of this slender thief?
