Seat Belts

• Seat belts will be checked to ensure they are anchored correctly and are in working order. Vehicles with airbags will have the airbag warning lamp checked as well.
  
  

Brakes

• The brake inspection usually includes inspection of the master cylinder, brake pads, drum brake linings, rotors, drums, lines, hoses and parking brake.
  
  

Tires

• The tread depth on the tires will be checked along with the general condition of the tires and air pressure.
  
  

Lights

• A basic inspection of the headlights, turn signals, brake lights and reverse lights is usually part of the vehicle inspection.
  
  

Windshield and Wipers

• The inspector will evaluate the condition of the windshield wipers and see whether cracks in the windshield require repair or replacement.
  
  

Other

• The mirrors, horn, fuel system and driver's seat might be checked in an inspection.
