How to Insert Page Borders Containing Images in MS Word
- 1). Open Microsoft Word. A blank white page opens as the default. To add image page borders to an existing document, click the "File" tab, click "Open" and browse to the file. Double-click the file, which opens in a new Word window.
- 2). Click the "Page Layout" tab at the top of the workspace. Click the "Page Borders" button, directly in the middle of the ribbon/toolbar under the tab. The Borders and Shading window pops up; the Page Border tab is already enabled.
- 3). Pull down the "Art" menu at the bottom of the window and scroll through Word's preset image designs for borders, such as holiday themes, flowers, abstract art and animals. Click a design and notice it appears in the preview pane on the right-third side of the screen. Click "OK," and the image page border is inserted.
- 4). Click the "File" tab. Click "Save As." If this was a newly created document, type a name for the file and click "Save." If an image page border was added to an existing document, type a different name to preserve the original and click "Save."
