How to Use iSight Without PhotoBooth
- 1). Boot up your MacBook or MacBook Pro, pressing and holding the power button. Wait for the computer to run through its start-up routine.
- 2). Download Quicktime Broadcaster, a software application that uses the iSight to make videos and webcam feeds. The program can be downloaded at the link listed in the Resources section.
- 3). Install Quicktime Broadcaster, double-clicking on the downloaded .dmg file. Then double-click on the Quicktime Broadcaster file and follow the installer prompts that appear onscreen.
- 4). Open Quicktime Broadcaster by double-clicking on its icon under the application's menu.
- 5). Use Broadcaster to record video and webcam feeds with your iSight. The red record button records video, and the settings can be edited under the Preferences menu, which is under the Quicktime Broadcaster menu in the upper-left corner. For more information, check the Help menu in the upper-middle portion of the screen.
