How to Work With Ultra Zar Paint With Polyurethane
- 1). Open the Zar polyurethane and stir with stirring paddles. Polyurethane clear finishes and polyurethane-based paints should never be shaken on a paint shaking machine.
- 2). Inspect the surfaces that will receive the polyurethane. Surfaces should be clean, dry and sanded smooth of any defects. Remove any existing foreign material or previous coatings before applying the new finish.
- 3). Using a 2 inch natural bristle brush, apply the polyurethane in smooth sweeping strokes. Do not pour the polyurethane onto a surface and then spread it out with a brush. A superior finish will be obtained when the polyurethane is brushed from the paint can. Do not roll or spray polyurethane enamels onto a surface because the enamel will collect air bubbles that will dry in the surface of the finish.
- 4). Allow the polyurethane enamel to dry completely between coats, according to the manufacturer's instructions. The polyurethane should also be sanded in between coats. A superior quality finish will be obtained by applying at least two coats of the polyurethane finish.
- 5). Clean all painting tools and brushes using deodorized paint thinner. Protect your hands with rubber gloves during the cleaning process.
