How to Decorate With Fish Netting
- 1). Select a fish netting that compliments the rest of the room décor. Add color to the room with colored fish netting. Popular fish netting colors are yellow, blue, red, black or green. If you want an authentic look, go for natural fish netting.
- 2). Secure the fish netting to the wall with a few decorative hooks. Choose a plain wall to place your fish netting. Place one decorative hook at each corner and place one in the middle of these hooks. Hang the netting from the first hook and let it catch on the hook in the center so a few dips are created. Then take the rest of the netting and place it on the last hook. Avoid stretching the netting out too much.
- 3). Place items in the fish netting that can get "caught" in the net. Pick up decorative items from the craft store such as starfish, shells or small plastic boats, or take a walk on the beach and gather real seashells, drift wood, sea urchins or coral to decorate your net. Gather sea glass to give your netting a shimmery look. Glue smaller items to the fish netting so they don't slip through the holes.
- 4). Show off your love of fishing by decorating your fish netting with fishing lures. Use an array of fishing lures in a variety of colors and sizes to create interest.
- 5). Display photos on the fish netting. Hang the fish netting from the ceiling with decorative hooks so it hangs straight down. Stretch out the netting so you have a flat surface to put photos on. Cover fish netting with snapshots of friends and family. Use mini-clips to secure photos to the netting.
- 6). Decorate the ceiling of a room with fish netting. Use a staple gun or decorative hooks to hang the net on the ceiling to give the room an under-the-sea look. Begin at one side of the room and allow it to droop down slightly so it creates swags. Staple the netting in place or place it on a decorative hook. Repeat this technique until you have finished decorating the part of the ceiling that you desire.
