16
The Canon Speedlite 430 EXII the ideal flash accessory when using the Canon Rebel XS.
Flash Head The Canon Speedlite 430 EX II has the tendency to grant you really good flash pictures.
You can angle the flash head by tilting and swiveling it towards your liking.
This makes it great for bounce flash.
Lenses at the range of 16mm up to 155mm or longer with the EOS Rebel XS will automatically be covered by the Speedlite's flash head as it zooms out.
Flash Height The flash height of the Canon Speedlite 430 EX II will help the light clear large and wide angle lenses.
The appearance of dark half-moon on your photographed images is common.
You can see it beneath pictures that are taken with built-in flash and medium-sized lenses.
No need to worry, the flash height of the Speedlite 430 EX II will eliminate it.
Another benefit of the flash height is that is reduces the red-eye effect.
In this case, this should be really good for those who conduct portrait photography often.
Excellent Flash Power A guide number is the distance against the f/number at ISO 100.
In this case, the Canon Speedlite430 EX IIhas the greatest guide number of 141 ft.
/ 43m at ISO, 100.
This simply means that it has excellent flash power.
The more the power, the better the flash can adjust to lower power when full power is not required.
AF-assist Beam Other than that, the Canon Speedlite 430 EX II also provides the AF-assist beam.
The AF-assist beam will facilitate your camera to autofocus.
This applies even when you are in totally dark area and wish to photography your subject which is positioned to as far as 32 ft.
away from your camera.
The Canon's Speedlite 430 EX II AF assist beam provides coverage up to 9 AF points.
Full Electronic-Through the Lens Version II (E-TTL II) The Speedlite will work as one with your camera to provide the full E-TTL II, automatic flash exposure.
This is a flash exposure metering system.
With this system, you can decide the right sum of light that you will need to provide when utilizing a preflash alongside the information of the distance of your subject.
White Balance You can also gain better white balance just by having your camera set to Flash white balance.
Setting your camera to auto will work fine too.
The colour information will be transmitted by the Canon Speedlite 430 EX II.
The information travels from the flash to the camera.
This is to avoid destabilization of white balance in each frame when you conduct continuous photo shoots.
The white balance settings will then be optimized for each image taken.
Manual Flash Feature The manual flash power feature is one of my favourite features that are provided in the Canon Speedlite 430 EX II.
The buttons on the Speedlite 430 EX II are parenthesis-shaped.
These buttons are used to change theSpeedlite's settings.
Those who have medium-sized fingers might find some trouble pressing onto the buttons.
Well, everything has its pros and cons.
The Canon Speedlite 430 EX II costs $280.
00.
In my opinion, purchasing this flash will be worth your investment - based on my experience as I own a Canon Speedlite 430 EX II myself.
Let me remind you, that this is my personal opinion.
I will not take responsibility if you happen to disagree with my opinion.
Hope this blog post has helped you.
