It"s Not What You Say But What They Hear

Body Language is probably the most important aspect of communication.
Although some will disagree, the majority of people quite clearly agree that verbal communication contributes only 7% to our communication skills.
If that really is the case why do people talk so much? In the past with a vocabulary of fewer words people made, themselves understood, we now have a vast vocabulary to choose from so why does communication appear, so difficult?  Why do many people find it difficult to start a conversation, and therefore need a link to use.
In Great Britain 98% of the population couldn't start a conversation if it wasn't for the weather.
Wherever you meet one or more British people, it won't be long before the conversation turns to the weather, irrespective of the state of the weather, or location.
However even if they don't speak you may still understand their communication,  if they beat there hands about while blowing out frosty clouds from their mouths, you wouldn't be wrong to consider the person is cold.
When you see a person in the distance who you can't hear but you see that person leap in the air and punch his fist up to the clouds, you may get the impression he is excited, pleased, celebrating.
But what if you did hear him and his words were "I am really disappointed" would you believe his verbal comment or his body language,?  It is a fact that communication is extremely important to everybody.
How you communicate will have a great bearing on how successful you are in life.
It is a fact that Leadership in all fields requires the person to be an outstanding communicator.
Researchers have established there are three parts to communication they are 'What We Say'.
'How We Say What We Say' and 'Body Language'.
The Researchers have also established the true percentage of the importance of the three major factors in communication they are: 'What We Say'                                7%   'How We Say What We Say'       38% 'Body Language'                          55% If that is the case and the research is correct does it not make sense to ensure that what we say 7% we get absolutely 100% correct?
