Many people might not have read this verse of scripture in proverbs about giving to your neighbour today when they have a need, this short article is for you.
Proverbs 3:27-28 (New King James Version) 27 Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, When it is in the power of your hand to do so.
28 Do not say to your neighbour, "Go, and come back, And tomorrow I will give it," When you have it with you.
It's in the Bible! Don't withhold good from those that is due.
When you have the money in a your wallet or in your house, don't turn away your neighbour (the person that seeks you out for a handout) and tell them to come back later.
If you turn them away it is sin as it is going against what is taught clearly here in the Proverbs.
It takes a bit of nerve to ask someone for help when you are broke.
It takes the letting go of pride and you need to become humble to beg for money and so when someone refuses you when you know they could have helped you it makes matters worse then they have to be.
This week I was low on money and had to borrow and it is so good to know someone that can you can borrow money off without fear of rejection.
We need to be that person for the community out there.
A safe haven for them to run to, a safe harbour, out of the storms of life.
May I pray for you? Dear Father I pray that you re-enforce what I have said in this article by your Holy Spirit's anointing.
I pray that you might touch the readers hearts and open them up toward the needy and the people that may come to them in the street and ask for money.
I ask that you might soften the readers hearts and that they might become a more giving and understanding person in all of this.
