How to Set Up Pop Up Wrecker Dollies
- 1). Lengthen two cross rails to fit the width of the vehicle. Depress the rail pin at the end of each cross rail to adjust the length. Click the rail pin back into the appropriate spline.
- 2). Set the cross rails on the ground, underneath the car, before and after the front tire. The opened curved metal face on the cross rail should mimic the curve of the tire. Set the rails tight where the tire meets the ground.
- 3). Place a dolly wheel assembly up against the drivers side front tire. Find the safety locks on the top of the cross beam near each wheel of the assembly. Disengage the safety locks with your fingers.
- 4). Tilt the wheel assembly away from the vehicle. Pick up the end of the rear most cross tie and fit it into the pocket closest to the car's tire on the dolly wheel assembly. Move the wheel assembly toward the front of the car, lift the front cross tie and fit it into the appropriate pocket on the dolly wheel assembly. Repeat steps 3 and 4 on the other side of the vehicle.
- 5). Engage the safety ratchets. There are four safety ratchets found behind each tire on the dolly wheel assemblies. Use your finger to flip the safety ratchet lever in, toward the center of the dolly wheel assembly cross beam.
- 6). Pop four pry pockets to lift the axle off the ground. The pry pockets are found between the safety ratchets and tires on the dolly wheel assemblies. Stick the square end of the pry bar into the pry pocket and push the top end away from the body of the dolly wheel assembly until you hear the safety lock click. Repeat on the entire process on the rear axle.
