Campground Review
Fairy Stone State Park is a great family camping destination. It's not quite as rugged or scenic as Shenandoah to the north or the Great Smoky Mountains to the southwest, but if you've got little ones who aren't up to miles of hiking anyhow, it's just what you need. The lake swimming beach has a water playground that the kids love, and the campground itself was quiet and clean with few bugs.
The showers and bathroom are great, and they are cleaned twice a day. If you have kids who freak about "spiders in the potty," this is a good place to wean them onto more serious camping. The camping fee covers admission to the beach, which in itself can be worth 10-12 dollars for a family.
