What Is a Water Seal Vacuum Pump?
- Water sucks through one end of a liquid ring vacuum pump where it spins a bladed rotor. The cylindrical rotor slots act as a piston for compressing and discharging gas. The process creates a vacuum of continual movement. A water seal separates the pressurized gas from the liquid until discharged out of the pump.
- The liquid ring vacuum pump is perhaps the most widely used vacuum pump in the industry. The design safely manages combustible gases through isothermal compression. A water seal vacuum pump also uses a simplistic design.
- The design absorbs a lot of power when in use. During the discharge portion of the pump, the liquid/water and gas mix with one another.
