How to Replace a Battery in a Buick Rendezvous
- 1). Place the Buick Rendezvous in "Park." Turn the engine off and remove the ignition key. Make sure the radio, lights and other battery-operated components are turned off.
- 2). Open the hood and locate the battery. The battery is located on the passenger side of the vehicle. Unbuckle the securing strap that goes across the battery.
- 3). Loosen the black, negative cable using a combination wrench. Pull the cable off and place it to the side. Loosen the red, positive cable and pull it off.
- 4). Lift the battery out of the Rendezvous. Discard the battery per local regulations. Use a rag and, if needed, wire brush, to clear away debris and dirt on the battery tray.
- 5). Insert the replacement battery into the battery holding tray. Secure the battery by buckling the securing strap across the battery.
- 6). Place the red, positive cable onto the positive battery terminal. Tighten the connection using the combination wrench. Place the black, negative cable onto the negative battery terminal and tighten it. Close the hood of the Rendezvous.
