How do I Connect a Laptop to an Integra DTR-5.2?
- 1). Connect your laptop's Line Out jack to the audio portion of your desired video input, either Video 2 or Video 3. Use the 1/8-inch to stereo "line-out" cable to accomplish this. If you do not wish to make an analog audio connection, skip this step.
- 2). Connect your laptop's digital audio output to an unused digital audio connection. If your laptop does not have a digital audio out, purchase a USB sound card, such as the SIIG USB SoundWave Pro, which has a digital audio output. If you do not want to make a digital connection, skip this step, but it will result in limited surround-sound options.
- 3). Connect your laptop's S-video or composite video output directly to one of the Integra DTR-5.1's video inputs, taking care to use the same input that you used for the analog audio connection. If your laptop does not have a S-video or composite video output, get a VGA to analog video output adapter, such as the StarTech VGA2VID High Resolution VGA to Composite or S-Video Converter, to go between the two devices.
- 4). Turn on your laptop, DTR-5.1 and video output device and switch the DTR-5.1 to the video output that you selected. If you used the analog audio input, you should be finished at this point.
- 5). Link the digital audio input, if you used it, to your chosen video input. To do this, go into the receiver's setup menu, choose "Input Setup," then "Audio Setup" then "Digital Setup." The DTR-5.2 can accept Dolby Digital 5.1, DTS 5.1 or PCM digital audio inputs.
