Naval Post Graduate School

• Active-duty Naval Officers can also pursue a degree in the medial field with a focus on nursing, health care science and clinical studies. If you're pursuing a career in the medical field and meet eligibility requirements, you can have 100 percent of medical and dental school costs covered by the Health Professions Scholarship Program (HPSP). Eligible students can receive monthly stipends of $2,060 up to four years to cover living expenses. Medical and dental students can receive sign-up bonuses up to $20,000. The Health Services Collegiate Program (HSCP) provides scholarships ranging from $157,000 to $269,000 for students finishing medical or dental school. HSCP also provides monthly stipends ranging from $3,280 to $5,610 to cover housing costs up to four years of your program. The Financial Assistance Program (FAP) provides an annual grant of $45,000 and a monthly stipend of $2,060 to cover living expenses up to four years.
  
  

NROTC Financial Benefits

• The Navy Reserve Officers Training Corp (NROTC) offers scholarships to cover tuition costs for eligible students training to become Naval Officers. The NROTC scholarship covers education and lab fees and you receive stipends to cover the cost of books. You also receive a monthly stipend for personal expenses. Freshmen receive $250 per month, sophomores receive $300 per month, juniors receive $350 per month and seniors receive $400 per month. NROTC students must take a Naval Science course each semester and participate in weekly drills. You are also required to wear the Navy uniform once a week at no cost to you.
  
  

NROTC Eligibility Requirements

• Students are required to have U.S. citizenship and at least 17 years of age by Sept. 1 of the first year starting college and no older than 23 years of age on June 30 of the first year starting college. You must not have reached 27 years of age by June 30 of the year you're graduating college. You must have a high school diploma by Aug. 1 of your first year of college in the NROTC. You are required to pass the Navy physical exam and cannot have more than 30 semester college hours or 45 quarter hours when you submit your application for acceptance. Minimum SAT score requirements include a 530 in Critical Reading and a 520 in Math. Minimum ACT scores include a 21 in Math and a 22 in English.
  
  

Naval Academy

• The Naval Academy prepares students to become Naval Officers in the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps. Acceptance into the Naval Academy is equivalent to receiving a full scholarship. Students in the Naval Academy are on active duty while completing courses. Upon completion, students graduate with a bachelor's of science degree in the discipline of their choice. Naval Academy graduates must serve at least 5 years as a Naval or Marine Corps Officer. Students take courses in science, mathematics, social science and humanities, which will qualify students for nearly any career within the Navy or Marine Corps. Students must also take four years of physical education courses.
