How to Migrate to Canada From Bangladesh
- 1). Determine which visa you'd like to apply for. A migrant interested in obtaining a permanent residency visa must obtain an application kit from the Citizenship and Immigration Canada website or request one by letter or fax from the Canadian High Commission in Singapore. Bangladeshis interested in obtaining student or non-immigrant worker visas can apply at one of the three Visa Application Centers, which are located in Dhaka, Chittagong and Sylhet, Bangladesh.
- 2). Determine which applicant classes you qualify for by following the instructions in the application kit. You can apply as a skilled worker or professional, Quebec-selected skilled worker, Canadian Experience Class (for those who have recent work experience in Canada), investor, entrepreneur or self-employed person, provincial nominees (applicants invited by a specific province) and migrants sponsored by family members already living in Canada. The application fee varies and must be submitted with the application.
- 3). Submit your application to the Canadian High Commission in Singapore once completed. Processing time varies depending on classification, with 80 percent of Skilled Workers and Professionals applications (the most common route to immigration) processed within eight months. Upon completion, you may be asked to go to Singapore for an interview with the visa officer. Otherwise, you are free to move to Canada as soon as your visa is issued.
