As with most physical ailments, medical diagnosis' for Candida are not always 100% accurate.
Similar symptoms can often be due to different diseases and disorders.
I strongly advise you to take the solid advice given to you by your doctor and combine it with the following simple test for candida.
Upon arising in the morning, find a clean, clear drinking glass.
Fill it with either mineral water or reverse osmosis water.
You do not want the chemicals found in tap water to interfere with the candida spit test.
If the test for candida is to offer a clearer picture of what is going on in your body, it is vital to do it first thing in the morning.
Do not eat or drink anything before the test.
Not even water.
While you're busy getting your glass of water, begin working up a mouthful of saliva.
Spit into the glass and set it aside for about an hour.
A mild case of Candida will produce leg-like strings which travel down into the water.
In the event that you have a more serious case of systemic Candida yeast infection, the saliva will sink to the bottom of the glass.
This Candida spit test is an easy and inexpensive way to check the severity of your condition.
Although it will help to determine if you have candida overgrowth within your intestinal tract, and if that overgrowth has transformed into the more pathogenic form, there are other steps you must take to ensure accurate results.
This is why I advise combining it with medical testing, as well as a questionnaire of your symptoms.

When filling out the questionnaire, you will likely find a certain amount of symptoms you are familiar with.
The number and severity level of the questions you answer yes to, will help to determine the state of your Candida overgrowth.
That said, the knowledge you will gain from the Candida spit test is definitely worth the small amount of time it will take.
