How to Make a Deer Cart

A long folding chair like this will work, but make sure the frame is metal.loungers image by Pix by Marti from Fotolia.com
Purchase or find an old lounge chair with a webbed back. You may be able to find an old one at a junkyard, or you may already have one around your house. Make sure the chair's frame is metal and that it is sturdy; you will be drilling through the frame later. - 2
Two bicycle tires like this will work great.bicycle tire image by Leticia Wilson from Fotolia.com
Find a matching set of bicycle tires. If you do not have an old bike you can use, the junkyard will have plenty of old bikes. Just be sure that they are the same size and do not have any holes. - 3). Find an axle. The axle needs to be the correct diameter so that it will fit through the tires, and long enough so that it is at least 12 inches longer than the width of the chair. Again, the junkyard is your best bet for finding an axle.
- 1). Drill two holes through the frame of the chair just below the joint where the middle section meets the upper section (where your back would rest). Make sure the holes are uniform.
- 2). Thread the axle through the holes in the frame. There needs to be at least six inches of axle protruding from the side of the frame.
- 3). Place the 1-inch pieces of pipe on both ends of the axle. These pieces will act as spacers so the wheel does not rub against the frame.
- 4). Place a washer on the end of axle up against the spacer, and then put the wheel on the axle. Repeat for the other side.
- 5). Place another washer on the axle up against the other side of the wheel, and repeat for the other side.
- 6). Place a clamp on each end of the axle, these will hold the wheels in place. If you have a welder, you can weld a nut onto each end.
- 7). Pick the cart upright by the front end where your feet would normally go, the cart is ready to use.
