How to Shoot a Hunting Bow
- 1). Grasp the handle of the bow with your non-dominant hand.
- 2). Grab an arrow with your dominant hand and place the shaft of it atop the handle. Use the forefinger on your non-dominant hand to hold the arrow in place.
- 3). Pull the arrow toward the string with your dominant hand.
- 4). Place the feathered end of the arrow against the center of the bow string.
- 5). Use the forefinger, middle finger, and ring finger on your dominant hand to hold the arrow against the bow string.
- 6). Hold your non-dominant arm straight out and lock your elbow. With your dominant arm, pull the bow string back.
- 7). Draw the string back until your dominant hand is near your jaw. Remove the fingers on your non-dominant hand from the arrow shaft and use them to hold the handle.
- 8). Aim the arrow at your target, take a breath, and release the arrow.
