How to Reduce UV Reflection on Hunting Clothing
- 1). Wash your hunting clothing in a scent-free sports wash formulated to reduce any traces of normal laundry detergent, oil or dirt. Normal laundry detergent contains UV brighteners that will make hunting clothing glow to a deer's eyes. Dry the clothing using medium heat and using a scent-free dryer sheet.
- 2). Spray UV killer on the outside and inside of the clothing until the surfaces are covered. This will help to further reduce the UV reflection. Many sprays are produced specifically for reducing UV reflection.
- 3). Use a UV light to test the effectiveness of the detergent and spray. Look for any missed spots that appear to glow and apply additional UV killer spray as needed until the entire garment is covered.
