How to Install a Stereo in a Saturn VUE
- 1). Disconnect the negative battery cable. Pull up the trim from around the window controls and disconnect the wires underneath. Put the car into drive, with the car turned off, and pull the trim ring over the shifter. Disconnect all wiring plugs and set the trim aside.
- 2). Look into the back of the storage pocket located under the stereo. Remove the four screws and remove the pocket. Pry at the bottom corner of the trim surrounding the stereo until the clips unsnap. Remove the connections behind the trim for the climate controls and pull the trim all of the way out of the dash.
- 3). Locate the four screws holding the radio in the dash and remove them. Pull the head unit out of the Saturn VUE dash and disconnect the wires behind the stereo.
- 4). Secure the new stereo into the GM radio install kit per the manufacturer's instructions. Snap the wiring harness adaptor onto the original harness and slip the GM antenna adaptor over the antenna wire. Plug the wiring harness adaptor and antenna wire into the back of the new head unit.
- 5). Slide the entire stereo assembly into the dash. Reconnect the battery and turn the radio on.
- 6). Verify all of the speakers and controls are working correctly. Secure the stereo in the dash with the four original screws. Plug the wires back into the trim panels and replace snap them back into place.
