How to Qualify for Long-Term Health Care Insurance

34
    • 1). Apply for long-term care insurance earlier in life rather than when you are in your "Golden Years." Although you certainly are able to obtain long-term care insurance when you are older, the reality is you can lock in a better rate on this type of coverage when you are younger.

    • 2). Get a medical exam. Obtaining a medical examination is a normal requirement to qualify for long-term care insurance. In some instances an insurance company may permit you to use your own doctor. However, there are also carriers that you require you to use their own doctor for an application examination.

    • 3). Provide the long-term care insurance company with information about any denial of coverage. A long-term care insurance provider may deny you coverage if you do not have a reasonable explanation for a denial of health insurance coverage at some point in your past. A standard qualification is to have a clear record in terms of insurance application denials.
