Raising a Good Discipline in Classroom
A good classroom discipline can be summarized by four sentences, which are “strict but not inflexible, dynamic but not chaotic, respect each other, function in order!”
Strict but Flexible
Strict request is the basic requirement for the teacher to take responsibility to teaching and students. But strict should be appropriate, this means that the strict should be flexible; after all, the classroom is not a military camp, it is not necessary for the students to do every thing according to the uniform. If teachers want to achieve “strict but not inflexible”, they should be full of love and kindness when they are managing the classroom discipline, “something one does not want to do, do not request others to do”, what one does not want or can not bear, do not impose it on others, because, as far as I am concerned, the purpose of education is to awaken human beings, awaken personality with personality, awaken mind with mind.
Energetic but Not Excessive
What is flexibility? It refers to the students’ thoughts. What need to be restrained are students’ behaviors. Full of energy means the students should invest much energy and interest in their study. When students’ thoughts are free, the teacher should guide the students how to think and what they should think. The students’ thoughts should be varied and free, should be about to the contents of books. If students’ thoughts and behaviors are not living, but chaotic, so there needs teachers’ constant effort to raise some good disciplines. What’s more, the class recess is the time that teachers and students relax and rest, so they should participate together, play together, simultaneously, this is good for their health, can also shorten the distance between teachers and students.
Mutual Respect
If students’ thinking and thoughts are active, so the next question is that everybody has their own viewpoint, all have their own ideas, each one wants to express and speak out, it is no doubt that these cases are positive, but if these actions are excessive, it can cause a bad result. Students do not listen to teachers, and they don’t accept others’ opinions, and there is only participation and expression, but no accept and hearing, thus students do not get progress, they do not know how to respect the teachers, the classmates, this is not our purpose of education. At this time, mutual respect is very important. When teachers are asking questions, students should listen carefully; when classmates are answering questions, other students should be quiet, should hear what they said, don’t interrupt them, and then raise their own ideas,
Function in Order
Function in order is the external performance of classroom discipline, and it is also the overall reflection of good classroom discipline. Help the students to control themselves, because the significance of management is not restrain each other, especially to human’s management, what is the most important is that let someone who is managed by others learn to manage himself; this should be the highest boundary of management. How to achieve this goal? First, before the teacher teaches a new lesson, they should let the students know which is important, where is difficult, find some questions they don’t know, and then listen to the teachers carefully when having class. Teachers also should make the students participate in making classroom rules and management, and then ask them to compare the rules frequently, let the students reconsider their previous behaviors, enrich and perfect the present rules.
