How to Test Tenergy 2600 Rechargeable Batteries
- 1). Charge your Tenergy 2600 until full. Remove the battery from the charger once full and leave to rest for about 24 hours. A Tenergy battery in good condition retains its full charge while a bad battery loses some or all of its charge.
- 2). Set your multimeter to measure mAh. The multimeter has two colored wires; red and black demoting positive and negative, respectively. The wires have small metal sensors at the end that you connect to your Tenergy battery.
- 3). Put the red-wire sensor onto the positive terminal of the Tenergy battery. The battery terminal is clearly labeled "+" and is on top of the battery. Put the black-wire sensor onto the negative terminal of the battery. This completes the circuit and enables a current to flow to the multimeter.
- 4). Read the mAh measurement on the multimeter display. If it reads 2,600 mAh, your Tenergy battery is in good condition, although 5 percent below this figure is acceptable. However, if the multimeter reading is below 2,400 mAh, consider replacing it. The lower the reading on the multimeter, the worse the battery's condition.
