Celebrate Tell A Fairy Tale Day

Tell a Fairy Tale Day takes place each year on February 26.
Once upon a time…Gather round the fire, and make yourselves comfortable. Tell A Fairy Tale Day is all about exploring myths and stories, old and new.
A fairy tale is a type of short story that typically features folkloric fantasy characters, such as fairies, goblins, elves, trolls, dwarves, giants, mermaids, or gnomes, and usually magic or enchantments.
Fairy tales may be distinguished from other folk narratives such as legends and explicitly moral tales, including beast fables.
The older fairy tales were intended for an audience of adults, as well as children, but they were associated with children as early as the writings of the Brothers Grimm titled their collection Children's and Household Tales, and the link with children has only grown stronger with time.
Celebrate today with friends or family to read aloud your favorite fairy tales. Whether you read a classic Grimm tale, a folktale or an urban legend, there are countless of fairy tales to choose from. Cinderella, Rumpelstiltskin, Snow White, The Three Little Pigs and Puss In Boots are just a few tales you may want to read on this day. Spark childrens’ creativity and encourage them to write fairy tale of their own.
By the way, even if you don't have children or your kids are not around, you should not miss the opportunity to reacquaint yourself with fairy tales. It's perfectly okay to read fairy tale books alone.
Make a cup of hot chocolate, curl up in a chair and immerse yourself in the world of princes and princesses, evil witches and beautiful fairies, dragons and unicorns, talking animals and magical plants.
