Homemade Gardenia Perfume

If you are using gardenia blooms, mash them up with a mortar and pestle.

Add vodka and mashed gardenia blooms or essential oil to a glass mason jar. Stir the mixture slowly for three minutes.

Cover the mouth of the jar with cheesecloth. Screw the lid on the jar.

Let the mixture stand for 48 hours, then add the spring water. Stir slowly.

Let the mixture stand for another 48 hours. Test the fragrance. If it is too light, let the mixture stand for a week or so. If the fragrance is too strong, add more spring water to the mixture.

Pour the mixture into an empty perfume bottle. If you used gardenia blooms, you might want to use a coffee filter to strain out the mixture.
