How to Access Windows 7 on the Computer Using Vista
- 1). Connect both computers---the one with Windows 7 and the one with Windows Vista---to the same network router. The connection type doesn't matter: Both wireless and wired computers are capable of accessing each other.
- 2). Turn on and log in to both computers. A computer that isn't logged in will not be accessible to other network computers.
- 3). Open the Start menu on the computer with Windows Vista, click "Control Panel," select "Network and Internet" and then, under "Network and Sharing Center," click "View network computers and devices." An icon for your Windows 7 computer will now show up in the "Computer" section of the window.
- 4). Double-click on the icon and then enter the administrator password for the Windows 7 computer. You will now be able to access the hard drive contents of your Windows 7 computer.
