    • 1). Wash your hair immediately after the treatment. Those who are happy with the keratin treatment are instructed to wait at least four days before washing so the keratin can absorb into the cuticle. By shampooing your hair a couple of times within the first 24 hours, you will speed up the removal process.

    • 2). Change your shampoo. Purchase a shampoo that has a large amount of the ingredient sodium chloride. It will break down the protein agent keratin and strip the substance from your hair follicle. Most shampoo products at your local drugstore contain sodium chloride or sulfate. Add 1 tsp. of table salt for every 2 tbsp. of shampoo that you use to increase the effect.

    • 3). Wash frequently. Brazilian Keratin Treatment is said to last up to four months, depending on how much you shampoo your hair. Wash with sodium chloride shampoo at least twice a day until the desired effect is achieved.
