I found out about this campground from my brother, and I camped there in April 2008.
Describe your camping trip:
Spent a weekend with my family, including my mother, younger brother, older sister, their families, and my wife and children. Upon arrival at the campground, we were greeted by the owners of the company. Very friendly, down home southern folk. My mother and sister rented a cabin, my younger brother had an RV hook-up and my wife and kids and I did tent-camping.
They made sure we were as close together as possible. What a beautiful location right on the banks of Okatoma Creek. The next morning we rented canoes and spent the day floating down the river and back to our campsites. Just a terrific family adventure and a perfect trip.
Pros: Clean bathrooms and hot showers. Great location on the river bank. Camping store on site and home-cooked bar-b-que available in the evening. Owner operated, so customer service was above what we come to expect these days.
Cons: It's a little off the beaten path, just in case you might find this to be a negative. Living in the big city, that's just what I look for.
Nearby attractions: Okatoma Creek, which offers the only white water canoeing and kayaking in Mississippi.
