How to Remove a Pet Smell From a Car
- 1). Remove all trash from your car to help get rid of anything that may be hanging onto odors. Dispose of the trash, making sure that the floorboards and seats are clear for cleaning.
- 2). Vacuum out the interior of your car with a shop-vac or use the vacuum cleaners at your local car wash or gas station.
- 3). Lay the floor mats outside in the sunlight to air out. Drape them over a chair or fence and leave them for as long as the sunlight permits.
- 4). Treat pet stains with a solution of equal parts white vinegar and water. Sponge the solution onto the area with a clean cloth or sponge and allow it to air dry.
- 5). Sprinkle baking soda liberally throughout the car's interior and allow it to remain there overnight.
- 6). Roll down the cars windows to allow fresh air to circulate through the vehicle for at least three to four hours if the weather permits.
- 7). Vacuum up the baking soda in the morning.
