For some reason, a lot of my friends seem to think that I've always got it together.
The truth is that I really don't.
Most of the time I feel like I'm running around like a chicken with its head cut off...
and it's been like that ever since I had children! Now that I have children, I feel like I actually put things off longer than I ever did before.
Take tonight for example, I actually found myself scrambling trying to find my son something fitting to wear to his school program tomorrow, which is at 10 a.
m.
- he's supposed to show up to school wearing his "Sunday best.
" Sadly, I've known about this for a couple of weeks now and have just put off finding something for him to wear.
I had intentions to do it after I was done shopping for Christmas gifts the other night, but that didn't happen.
So, here I was tonight trying to figure out what to do before tomorrow morning when it's time to send my son off to school.
Below are a few tips for finding kids' formalwear at the last minute...

• The Closet - Chances are, your kids will have a few outfits that pass as "formal" hidden back in their closets.
  All you need to do is dig them out and have the kiddos try them on.
  With any luck, you'll have at least one outfit that still fits.
  If not, you may be able to mix and match the pieces that do fit with other pieces to make a complete, well-fitting outfit.
  
• The Attic - If you are looking for formal clothing for younger children who have older siblings of the same sex, then get up and look in the attic.
  You may know where you stored some of your older children's formal clothing and find a "like new" outfit that fits, saving you a lot of money and some valuable time, as well!
• Relatives and/or Friends - There is absolutely nothing wrong with calling a relative or friend who has a child (of the same sex) around the same age as yours, if you truly don't have time to run to the store and find something little one to wear to an upcoming formal event.
  Most people are more than willing to help a friend out by letting them borrow a few articles of clothing from time to time...
  shoot, isn't that what girls grow up doing?
• The Store - Finally, make a trip to the store.
  It doesn't matter if the only thing that's open is Walmart, if you don't have any other option available and have to have formal clothing immediately...
  go to Walmart! If you child has dress pants, but still needs a dress shirt to fit, you can easily find those at Target, Walmart and other department stores.
  Some dress shirts even come with a matching clip-on necktie!
