13

    Remove the Battery

    • 1). Turn off the computer, close the display cover and turn the laptop over so that the bottom of the unit is facing up. Disconnect the AC adapter if connected to the T-43.

    • 2). Unlock the battery by sliding the lock latch above the battery to the left.

    • 3). Slide the latch that is located to the side of the battery to the left and hold it in the unlocked position as you remove the battery.

    Replace the Memory

    • 1). Remove the screw that secures the memory slot cover. Remove the slot cover and set it aside.

    • 2). Remove the memory SO-DIMM by gently pressing the latches on the sides of the module outward. Raise the SO-DIMM upward as you push the latches out and remove it from the computer.

    • 3). Locate the notch on the new SO-DIMM. The notch is on the contact edge side of the module. Be careful not to touch the contact edge because you might damage the SO-DIMM if you do.

    • 4). Align the notch on the SO-DIMM so that it matches up with the notch on the memory slot. Angle the memory module to about 20 degrees and press it firmly into the slot. Pivot the memory module downward and snap into place.

    • 5). Inspect the new SO-DIMM to make sure that is secure in the memory slot. The memory module should not move at all if you push on it.

    • 6). Replace the memory slot cover and tighten the screw. Reinstall the battery and turn the computer right side up. Reconnect the cables and use the laptop as you normally would.
