How to Paint an Infant's Bedroom
- 1). Choose softer colors for an infant’s room. If you want bold color, look for it in the form of furniture or accessories such as storage drawers, pillows or throw blankets. Colors to choose from include soft yellow, blue, green or shades of purple.
- 2). Paint every wall in the room the same color, and paint the ceiling white for a contemporary look. Use the walls to hang art collections or place a decal mural or stencil on the wall for a simple decorative feature.
- 3). Layer a single color throughout the entire room for a cohesive and easy look. For example, paint the walls in a light creamy yellow, and use sunshine yellow for the crib bedding or window treatments.
- 4). Incorporate two colors into the room by breaking up a wall with chair railing. Imitate the look of expensive wainscotting by painting the lower 36 inches of the wall a darker color than the upper portion. For example, paint the lower portion of the wall a sage green and the upper portion a creamy light yellow. Place white chair railing where the two colors meet for a custom look.
