Ideas to Decorate a Giant Cupcake Silicone Pan

12

    Basic Cupcake

    • For a basic cupcake, apply a thin layer of frosting to the top of the giant cupcake base and gently place the peaked part on top. Fill a piping bag with more frosting and a flat tip, such as one designed for making leaves. Place the tip at the bottom of the cake and squeeze as you move it up the cake. Repeat the process, circling the giant cupcake. The stripes give the cake the traditional cupcake liner look. Decorate the top with white frosting piped in swirls and a handful of sprinkles scattered over the top.

    Cupcake Castle

    • Turn multiple giant cupcakes into a castle for a fairy-themed party. Arrange a large posterboard on a flat surface and apply a dollop of frosting to the bottom of one cake. Place that cupcake at the front of the board and place a piece of floral foam or a cereal treat behind it. Set a second giant cupcake on top of the floral foam and two more on the sides. Decorate the cupcakes with pink and purple frosting. Fill a piping bag with white frosting and outline doors and windows. Attach small flags to wooden dowels and insert a dowel into the top of each cake. Cover the board and floral foam with green frosting.

    Stacked Cupcakes

    • Set the giant cupcake on a flat surface and gently trip away the top surface at an angle. Cut into the angled area to make a flat surface. Frost the giant cupcake and then decorate a regular-size cupcake. Apply frosting to the bottom of the cupcake and slide it onto the flat area. A stacked cupcake is often called a topsy-turvy cake because it looks like the smaller cupcake is sitting at an angle.

    Rainbow Cupcake

    • When you mix your cake batter, pour the correct ratio into the cupcake top pan, using the instructions as a guide. Divide the remaining cake batter into small bowls and mix in a few drops of food coloring, using a different color in each bowl. Layer the batters in the cupcake bottom pan, alternating the colors, and bake as directed. When you remove the cake from the pan, it will have the look of a rainbow. Frost the top of the cake with vanilla frosting and decorate with rainbow colored sprinkles.
