Recipe Box and Cards

• Whether your interest lies in traditional scrapbooking techniques or in digital designs, a recipe box and cards makes a make-and-take item the creator can custom craft and give as gifts. The Shabby Princess, well known online digital scrapbook designer, recommends using a digital scrapbooking kit to design recipe cards using scrapbook designs. Use creative fonts to add favorite recipes. Tie with a complementary ribbon, add a few buttons and felt flowers and insert the stack into a clear Lucite or plastic recipe file box. Top off with ribbon bow and scrapbook tag. You can also design your own recipe envelope with card stock and embellish it with torn papers, background papers, ribbons, brads and any number of doo-dads. Reminder Cards on a Keyring

• A cheap keyring is just the thing to bind together the stack of reminder cards that will complete this make-and-take idea. Use leftover scrapbook supplies and small pieces of assorted papers to design cards to carry in your purse to help remind you of important things like birthdays, business contacts, children's clothing sizes or information about your vintage collection of whatever fun items you collect. Use index cards or a deck of playing cards as your base. Adhere card stock and papers to the sturdier cards. Add a space for writing down notes. Decorate with assorted scrapbook embellishments, ribbons, braid and cords. After everything is dry, punch holes in each card and add to keyring. Tiny Bags of Confetti

• Graduation, rush week, weddings, birthdays and anniversaries fill calendar pages. Save all the tiny circles from your hole punched papers. Purchase tiny plastic jewelry bags and fill use the wee circles to create celebration confetti. Use your scrapbook program to make a simple double-sized tag to go across the top of the bag's opening. Use a theme that goes along with celebration such as retirement, a baby's birth or passing the bar exam. Fold tag so that it covers the top of the bag on each side and staple. Attach ribbons, stickers, buttons, tags or appropriate embellishments. Hand out to your honoree as is, add to a special card or scrapbook a page or mini-album just for that person. The little celebration bag is the make-and-take item. You might add a small bottle of champagne or a party blower, miniature ones if you can find them.
