How to Make a Large Fabric Baby-Wipe Case

    • 1). Lay the fabric for the outside of the case on your work surface and cut a rectangle that measures 20 inches long by 12 inches wide. Cut the same size rectangles from the lining fabric and the fusible interfacing.

    • 2). Cut a piece of fleece fabric that measures 19 inches long by 11 inches wide.

    • 3). Lay the lining fabric rectangle, good side down, on your work surface and center the fleece rectangle on top.

    • 4). Lay the interfacing on top of the stacked rectangles. The glue side of the interfacing should be facing downward. Iron over the interfacing according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

    • 5). Flip the joined rectangles over, and lay the fabric rectangle on top with its good side facing downward. Sew a running stitch along one short edge, with a 1/2-inch seam allowance. Cut off the corners of the seam allowance and iron the seam allowance flat against the fabric.

    • 6). Pick up the rectangles and fold over the fabric so that the wrong side of the fabric is pressed against the wrong side of the lining — like you would flip over the page of a notebook.

    • 7). Insert straight pins around the outer edges of the fabric layers and trim the corners to make rounded edges.

    • 8). Lay the rectangles with the lining side facing upward and fold over 8 inches to reduce the width of the rectangles and create a pouch. Iron along the fold to create a crease.

    • 9). Measure the perimeter of the diaper-wipe case, with the pouch still folded. Cut a piece of the binding tape to the length of the perimeter and wrap it around the case. Slide the outer edges of the case into the fold of the tape and sew a running stitch all the way around to attach the tape and sew the sides of the pouch in place.

Fold the top of the diaper case over the pouch. Make a mark on the pouch where the flap touches the fabric. Cut two pieces of hook-and-loop fastener. Sew one to the pouch over the top of the mark and one piece to the underside of the flap.
