Ski Poles for Asphalt Training
- Pole ferrules replace the standard basket and tip on a cross-country ski pole to be used in rollerskiing. They are sturdy and sharp; using them will prevent your regular ski pole tips from breaking off.
- Trekking poles are another option. They have grips and straps like alpine ski poles and replaceable rubber tips for asphalt training. You can adjust the height of trekking poles, which can be advantageous if you want to use them for hiking, back-country skiing and rollerblade alpine ski training, all of which will change your height.
- Nordic walking poles are made with rubber tips and special straps designed for cross-country ski movements while walking.
- If you want to save your good ski poles for the snow but don't want to buy asphalt-specific poles, you can find old, used poles at a thrift store or ski swap. Size your poles with your rollerblades or rollerskis on your feet because they will make you taller.
