How to Leak Test a Chainsaw Carb

11
    • 1). Remove the carburetor from the chainsaw. Turn the high and low speed jets clockwise until they are fully seated. Turn the high and low speed screws one full turn counterclockwise.

    • 2). Insert the valve of the carburetor pressure tester into the fuel inlet valve on the carburetor. Make sure the tester is securely fitted to the valve.

    • 3). Submerge the carburetor into the beaker filled with water. Pump the tester’s bulb until the gauge reads 50 kPa (.5 bar) and clamp the pump tube.

    • 4). Watch the gauge and the carburetor for any leaks. Leaks will cause the water to bubble in the area of the leak and the level on the gauge to fall. Disassemble and repair leaking carburetor parts.
