How to Transfer Information From One Palm Pilot to a New One
- 1). Click "Start" and "All Programs." Double-click on the Palm Desktop software. Select the user name for the information you want to store on the new Palm Pilot.
- 2). Select the type of application you want to import. For example, you could save addresses, emails, multimedia and pictures. Check off each one if you want them all on your Palm Pilot.
- 3). Click "File." Select "Import."
- 4). Click to open the "Palm" folder. All the information you want to import will save to this folder. It will also have a file ending with ".dat." This backs up the information.
- 5). Double-click the ".dat" file. Select "Open" and "Save." Repeat the steps for all other applications you want to save (e.g., emails, contacts, photos, etc.). Click "Save" when you're finished importing.
- 6). Attach the data cable to your new Palm Pilot. Attach the other end to your desktop computer or laptop's USB port. Click "Synchronize." This transfers the information from your old Palm Pilot to your new one.
