General Skin Care - Daily Maintenance
When it comes to your skins health you should do everything in your power when you're younger to maintain soft, healthy, glowing skin without blemishes and wrinkles.
This involves a few practices that if you follow will allow you to get the most out of your skin for as long as humanly possible.
First, you need to wash your face regularly with an oil free facial wash or scrub.
I recommend you wash your face in the morning when you wake up and again at night before you go to bed.
Do not wash your face more than twice daily, it can dry out your skin and actually speed up the aging process which is not what we want! In addition, wash your hands 3-5 times daily.
Why? Because you are constantly touching dirty, greasy things that will cause breakouts, wrinkles, and who else knows what! People are often surprised how much their skin cleans up when they wash their hands regularly, give it a try!.
The best part is washing your hands is free (unless you want to buy a really nice hand wash for home/personal use.
Stay out of direct sunlight! That means applying a strong SPF (30+ SPF) sunblock every 2-4 hours or as directed by the product.
I personally will rotate off and on between having my skin directly exposed to the sunlight and being covered by clothes, however, Ultra Violet rays can still penetrate most t-shirt materials so don't mess with the sun, you will lose.
Don't drink alcohol excessively or smoke cigarettes.
The problem is many people have been doing so for decades and are addicted.
I understand how difficult it is to quit smoking and I was only doing so for 5 years.
If you cannot quit, trying limiting the amount you do smoke :) as studies prove the mal-effects of smoking and skin health.
Eat a Balanced Diet.
Eating a balanced diet rich in proteins, carbohydrates, and other essential minerals is vital to your skins health.
Dark circles under the eyes and other discoloration can be as simple as adding vitamins you are lacking.
Sleep 8 hours per night.
People underestimate how important sleep is.
Once again, dark circles and discoloration may not require any products or creams at all.
The remedy? Sleep! -- as some of you are reading this well into the night.
There are a bunch of factors you cannot control such as age and genetics, but this will put you in the best position possible for looking and feeling your best.
Not to mention, the peace of mind that you gain from knowing you didn't leave anything on the table.
For me, as I have gotten older I have realized that even though I have taken care of my skin I still needed other products to get rid of some of the fine lines that were forming around my mouth, eyes, and lips.
My big problem was I couldn't find any single product that worked, so I made my own skin health routine.
